darawaana was founded in northern Thailand with a vision to create a senior care community that honors traditional Thai values of respect for elders while providing modern comforts and thoughtful services. The name "darawaana" means "star" in Thai, reflecting our commitment to providing a guiding light of care and warmth for families seeking a peaceful home for their loved ones.

Our founders observed that many care facilities prioritized efficiency over comfort, creating environments that felt institutional rather than homelike. They envisioned something different: a place where seniors would be surrounded by soft furnishings, gentle activities, and genuine companionship. A place where comfort would not be considered a luxury but an essential part of daily life.

From the beginning, we made a conscious choice to remain small. With a maximum of twenty residents, we ensure that our community maintains a familial atmosphere where every person is truly known and valued. This allows us to honor individual preferences, from meal choices to daily routines, and to provide the kind of personalized attention that larger facilities cannot offer.

Our location in San Kamphaeng, surrounded by the peaceful countryside of Chiang Mai, provides a serene setting where residents can enjoy garden walks, fresh air, and the natural beauty of northern Thailand. The slower pace of rural life complements our philosophy of unhurried, dignified care.
